Authorised Workshop for OBU Installation
For all Singapore-registered vehicles, the On-Board Unit (OBU) will replace the current In-Vehicle Unit (IU) under the new ERP 2.0 system.
Installation is mandatory and must be carried out at LTA-authorised workshops.

VEP Application
From 1 July 2025, Malaysia has fully enforced the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) system for all foreign-registered vehicles.
Any vehicle without a valid VEP-RFID tag will face a RM300 fine at the land border. Since enforcement began, more than 1,500 Singapore drivers have already been fined for non-compliance.
The VEP system, which uses RFID tags to identify vehicles, was introduced in phases from October 2024 and is now mandatory for all cross-border travel.
